Our selfish human desires cause us to reach, grab, acquire, grasp, and hang onto things with a stingy frown and nasty scream that threatens anyone who dares to take the stuff that we call mine. But these things are temporary, and no matter how tight we hold them, we cannot secure them if the true Owner—God—decides to take them back. What then should be our attitude toward “our” things?
